Neighbor dispute involving retired police officer ends in bloodshed

According to the information received, an argument broke out for an unknown reason in the garden of an apartment building in the Yeni Mahalle Belkoop area between retired police officer M.K. and his neighbors, with whom he had a feud.

As the argument escalated, M.K. went to his home and retrieved his handgun. Returning to the scene, M.K. opened fire on A.K., his wife I.K., and their child C.K., with whom he had been arguing. A.K., C.K., and I.K. were wounded after being struck by bullets.

Keşan District Police Department teams, who arrived at the scene after receiving reports of the argument, fired warning shots into the air to end the fight upon seeing M.K. firing his weapon. Numerous police and medical teams were dispatched to the scene.

The wounded were taken to Keşan State Hospital by ambulance after initial intervention by medical teams and were placed under treatment. It was learned that the condition of one of the wounded, A.K., remains critical.

Following the incident, M.K. was apprehended along with his handgun and taken into custody. Extensive security measures were taken by the police at the scene. A comprehensive investigation into the incident has been launched.
