The Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Department of Disaster Affairs and Risk Management, AKOM, has published its new weekly weather forecast report for the city. Following the heavy downpours and flooding that were effective last week, the rainy weather in Istanbul is expected to leave the region as of Sunday, October 18.
According to the report, air temperatures will rise again from the levels where they had dropped below 15 degrees and will approach seasonal norms. While no precipitation is foreseen across the city on Sunday, the wind is expected to blow from the southwest (lodos) and northwest (karayel) directions at moderate strength, occasionally blowing strongly. Wind speeds are estimated to be between 10 and 35 kilometers at intervals.
In AKOM's forecast for the period of October 19-24, it was reported that no precipitation is expected across Istanbul throughout the week. Temperatures are projected to increase gradually, reaching up to 22 degrees starting from the middle of the week.
