Non-commissioned officer who killed his ex-fiancée commits suicide
A nurse at the Mersin City Hospital Maternity Ward was shot and killed inside her car by her ex-fiancé, a non-commissioned officer serving in Hakkari. The non-commissioned officer then committed suicide by shooting himself in the head with the same gun.
The incident occurred in the evening hours on 25169th Street in the Menteş neighborhood of the central Yenişehir district. According to allegations, non-commissioned officer E.D. (30), who serves in Hakkari, followed the car driven by his ex-fiancée, Ayşe Merve S. (30), a nurse at the Mersin City Hospital Maternity Ward, to the location of her home in his own vehicle.
There, the suspect entered his ex-fiancée's parked car and began to talk. After a while, an argument broke out between the two, and the woman was shot by her ex-fiancé with a handgun as she tried to get out of the car to call for help.

The young woman fell between two vehicles and lost her life. E.D. then ended his own life by shooting himself in the head with his handgun inside the woman's car.

Upon notification, health and police teams were dispatched to the scene. While the police secured the perimeter, crime scene investigation teams conducted an examination alongside the prosecutor.
After the investigation at the scene was completed, both bodies were taken to the Mersin University Faculty of Medicine Hospital morgue for autopsy.
