Number of people seeking hospital treatment for suspected poisoning rises to 71
The number of people who fell ill and sought medical attention after eating food at an event held at a middle school in Kütahya has risen to 71. While 48 of the students have been discharged, 23 people remain under treatment and observation.
The incident occurred at the Şule Mete Tetik İmam Hatip Middle School located in the Meydan neighborhood.
As part of an event held at the school, chicken and rice were served to students and guests.
Following the meal, health teams were notified after some students and adults began experiencing symptoms of nausea, abdominal pain, and vomiting.
As the number of complaints increased, a large number of people sought care at various healthcare facilities in Kütahya, primarily the Kütahya City Hospital, using their own means or by ambulance.
It was learned that following medical examinations, the number of people who applied to hospitals with suspected poisoning reached 71.
It was reported that 48 of the students who were taken under treatment have been discharged, while 23 people remain under observation in hospitals and are continuing to undergo check-ups.
