One person killed in exhaust backfiring dispute at festival
One person was killed and another was injured in a fight that broke out due to exhaust backfiring at the Motofest Festival held in the Turhal district of Tokat.
The incident occurred around 22:00 at the Turhal Grand Hotel picnic area. According to allegations, motorcycle enthusiasts gathered at the picnic area as part of the Motofest Festival. It is alleged that at this time, Kürşat Elitaş (45) began backfiring his motorcycle exhaust.

A verbal argument broke out between Osman İşeri, who was attending the festival, and Elitaş due to the exhaust backfiring. The argument quickly turned into a fight.
Osman İşeri, who was allegedly under the influence of alcohol, opened fire with a handgun he had with him. In the ensuing scuffle, Kürşat Elitaş was wounded in the head, and Ahmet Kuvan was wounded in the shoulder.
Elitaş, one of the wounded who was taken to Turhal State Hospital, could not be saved despite all interventions and lost his life. Osman İşeri was taken into custody following the incident. The investigation into the incident is ongoing.
