Peer bullying against a 12-year-old in Istanbul: 'Mom, they are going to stab me,' he says

The incident took place in Arnavutköy. According to the information obtained, 12-year-old 5th-grade student A.H. encountered three children of similar age, identified as C.K. (12), M.M. (15), and M.A.T. (14), after school.

One of the children asked if he knew the location of his friend. After A.H. gave directions, the three individuals reacted by saying, "Why did you tell them our location?" and forcibly took the child to a grassy area.

There, A.H. was beaten by the three individuals for several minutes. As a result of the assault, bruises formed on A.H.'s face and various parts of his body.

He begged them to stop, saying he was an epilepsy patient

It was stated that during the attack, A.H., who suffers from epilepsy, begged the children beating him to stop by telling them about his condition. The moments of violence were recorded on a mobile phone camera. The footage captured the moments the child was subjected to bullying. The incident ended with the intervention of a person in the vicinity.

Mother F.H. said she searched for her son for about half an hour and learned what happened after finding him. While A.H. was taken to the hospital, the family obtained a medical report for the injuries and went to the police station to file a complaint.

3 suspects in custody

Following the family's complaint, teams from the Arnavutköy District Police Department's Juvenile Bureau apprehended and took into custody the minors identified as M.M., C.K., and M.A.T. After their processing at the police station, the apprehended children will be referred to the courthouse tomorrow on charges of "intentional injury," "threat," "insult," and "violation of the privacy of private life."

"I searched for my child for half an hour"

Describing the events, mother F.H. said, "The children grabbed my son after school. They took him behind the school. They said things like, 'Why did you tell them our location?' They grabbed the child and dragged him behind the school. I searched for my child for half an hour. Then a woman appeared and shouted, 'I will call the police, leave the child alone.' That is how they let the child go."

"He says, 'Mom, they are going to kill me, they are going to stab me'"

Stating that her son is an epilepsy patient, F.H. said, "My child is an epilepsy patient. I have been dealing with this for 8-9 years. I haven't been able to sleep for two or three days. My child is scared at night. He says, 'Mom, they are going to kill me, Mom, they are going to stab me.' He cries and says, 'I won't go to school.' Today it is my child, tomorrow it could be someone else's. I don't want this to happen to other children."

"I just learned that they were taking his pocket money"

Stating that she recently learned her son had been subjected to bullying by the same individuals before, the mother said, "They had gone to markets before and taken his pocket money. I give him pocket money for school, and they were taking it from his hands. They threatened him by saying, 'If you don't go to the market and steal, if you don't bring it to us, we will kill you.' He wasn't telling me because he couldn't speak out due to being threatened. I have been learning about these incidents for the last two or three days."

"I am filing a complaint to the fullest extent"

Explaining that she felt great sadness after watching the footage of the attack, F.H. said, "I am in a very bad state, I cannot express myself. I haven't been able to eat for two days. We went to the hospital and got a medical report for the injuries. I am filing a complaint to the fullest extent. No matter how far it goes, I will not let it go. I don't want other mothers to experience this, and I don't want it to happen to other children."
