Pickup truck driven by 16-year-old hits pedestrian

The accident occurred on Yavuz Sultan Selim Boulevard in the Merkez neighborhood.

According to the information received, the pickup truck with license plate 33 VLA 74, driven by S.H.A. (16), struck Z.E. (20), who was attempting to cross to the opposite lane from a route where road work was being conducted, throwing the pedestrian onto the road.

Upon notification of the accident, health and police teams were dispatched to the scene.

The injured individual, whose condition is serious, was taken to the district state hospital by ambulance and placed under treatment.

On the other hand, it was alleged that the driver of the pickup truck involved in the accident stopped a short distance away from the scene after being warned by another driver.

The moment of the accident was reflected on a security camera. The footage shows the pedestrian stepping onto the road and being struck by the passing pickup truck, which then continued on.

An investigation into the accident is ongoing.
