Principal who pushed autistic student down stairs arrested
In the Turgutlu district of Manisa, a school principal who was detained on allegations of pushing an autistic child down the stairs at a school has been arrested by judicial authorities.
Following the emergence of security camera footage in the media showing school principal Bekir G. pushing an autistic student down the stairs during an incident that occurred on November 5 at Irlamaz Refik Pınar Secondary School in the Turgutlu district of Manisa, the school principal was taken into custody by gendarmerie teams.
After being processed at the gendarmerie, school principal Bekir G. was referred to the courthouse, where he was arrested by the court on charges of 'intentional injury to a child unable to defend themselves' and sent to prison.
It has been learned that the investigation into the incident is ongoing.
