Rabbit-costumed individual with toy rifle causes alarm at Sarıyer Hacıosman Metro station

The incident occurred on the evening of July 27, 2025, at the Sarıyer Hacıosman Metro station. According to the information obtained, passengers were taken by surprise when they saw an individual wearing a rabbit costume and carrying a rifle board the metro.

Following the initial shock, some passengers filmed the individual and shared the footage on social media. In response, the Istanbul Police Department launched an investigation to apprehend the person.

Investigations revealed that the individual had traveled from the Hacıosman Metro station toward the Cumhuriyet Mahallesi direction. During the follow-up, the individual was apprehended while wearing the mask at a metro station on Araba Yolu Street.

Upon checking his identity, it was determined that the individual was a 15-year-old identified as A.Y.

The investigation confirmed that the rifle in the individual's possession was a "wooden toy rifle" and the mask was a "toy rabbit mask." Legal proceedings have been initiated against A.Y. for the crime of "Intentionally Endangering General Safety."
