Race between two motorcyclists in the wrong direction ends in death

The accident occurred at around 21:30 in the Sultangazi Cebeci Tunnel. According to allegations, two motorcyclists who entered the tunnel in the wrong direction and were racing at high speed collided head-on with an intercity bus with license plate 44 DD 444, which was traveling in the direction of the Northern Marmara Motorway.

With the force of the collision, one motorcycle was thrown onto the road, while the other was dragged for meters in front of the bus along with its driver.

The motorcycle driver who was dragged for meters with the bus lost his life at the scene, while 2 bus drivers, including one reserve driver, and one motorcycle driver were injured. Police and medical teams were dispatched to the scene upon notification.

Medical teams provided the first intervention to the injured at the scene. The injured were then taken to the hospital by ambulances.

BUS PASSENGERS NARROWLY ESCAPE DISASTER

It was learned that the passengers of the bus, which had departed from Alibeyköy Bus Terminal to go to Malatya, narrowly escaped a disaster, and the passengers survived the accident without injury. The passengers were transferred to another bus that arrived at the scene and continued their journey. Crime scene investigation teams conducted an investigation in the tunnel for a long time. While it was learned that the condition of the motorcycle driver taken to the hospital is serious, the condition of the 2 bus drivers is reported to be good.

Due to the accident, traffic flow in the tunnel was provided from a single lane. After the investigations, the lifeless body of the motorcycle driver, whose name could not be learned, was taken to the Forensic Medicine Institute Morgue.

The teams have launched an investigation into the incident.
