Ahead of the downpour expected to affect Istanbul, city traffic appeared calmer than during typical rush hours. Traffic density remained at a low level as some drivers changed their travel plans due to the expectation of rain.
According to the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality's traffic density map, traffic density across the city was recorded at 33 percent as of 16:40. The map showed that many main routes were flowing smoothly, while some arterial roads experienced occasional congestion.

It is anticipated that if the rainfall intensifies later in the day, traffic activity may change, particularly on main arterial roads, bridge connections, and public transport transfer points.
Drivers are advised to maintain a safe following distance according to weather conditions and to check the current traffic situation before setting out.
