Real estate agency fined for listing 'not for rent to retirees'
Ministry of Trade Press Advisor Bekir Kaplan announced that a housing advertisement published on a listing site with the phrase "not for rent to retirees" has been removed and an administrative fine has been imposed on the real estate business that posted it.
Ministry of Trade Press Advisor Kaplan stated in a post on his social media account regarding the matter, "A housing advertisement published on a listing site with the phrase ‘not for rent to retirees’ was removed from publication after an investigation by our Ministry determined it violated the Regulation on Real Estate Trade, and an administrative fine was imposed on the relevant real estate business.

As the Ministry of Trade, we consider it among our fundamental priorities to ensure that every citizen receives service under equal conditions, that fair, honest, and ethical commercial activities are maintained in the market, and that all forms of discriminatory practices that offend the public conscience are prevented.
We will continue with determination to stand by honest trade, fairness, and social responsibility; and to protect the rights and legal interests of our citizens," he said.
