Record 720,000 TL fine for wedding convoy and celebration in tunnel
In Gaziantep, 4 vehicles involved in a wedding convoy and celebration inside a tunnel were fined a total of 720,000 TL and banned from traffic for 120 days. The drivers' licenses were also suspended for 120 days.
The incident occurred in the 100th Year Tunnels in the Şahinbey district.
Allegedly, 7 vehicles inside the tunnel blocked traffic to hold a wedding convoy and celebration.
The moments were captured on a mobile phone camera. After the footage appeared on social media, the Gaziantep Police Department teams treated the incident as a report and launched an investigation into the vehicles in question.
Record fine for vehicles and drivers
As a result of the efforts, 4 of the 7 vehicles with identified license plates were fined 180,000 TL each, totaling 720,000 TL, for violating the rule of "forming a convoy in a way that hinders the passage of other vehicles inside a tunnel." The vehicles in question were banned from traffic for 120 days, and the drivers' licenses were suspended for 120 days.
It was stated that work regarding the other 3 vehicles with identified license plates is ongoing.
