The incident occurred in the morning hours in the basement of a 3-story building on 2301 Street in the Adem Yavuz neighborhood.
According to the information obtained, Y.S., who had been released on leave 3 days ago from the prison where he was held for drug-related offenses, strangled his wife of 10 years, Esma Söğütçü, to death while she was sleeping.
Y.S., who fled the house after the incident, was caught and taken into custody by the police one street away.
Upon notification, health teams arrived at the house and determined that Esma Söğütçü had lost her life during their checks.
The body of Esma Söğütçü, a mother of 3, was taken to the morgue for an autopsy.
The investigation into the incident is ongoing.
