Retired police officer shoots and wounds 3 people after argument
In Tokat, a retired police officer shot and wounded 3 people with a handgun during an argument at a recreation area.
The incident occurred at 19:30 at the Küçük Çeltik recreation area in Karayün village, Zile district. According to the information obtained, M.E.Ç. (39), M.U. (36), and T.Ö. (47), who live in the district, encountered retired police officer E.D. (53) while having a picnic at the recreation area.
Allegedly, an argument broke out between the individuals due to the buying and selling of animals. During the incident, which turned into a fight, retired police officer E.D. opened fire with his weapon. While M.E.Ç., M.U., and T.Ö. were wounded in the incident, health and gendarmerie teams were dispatched to the scene upon the notification of citizens in the surrounding area.
The wounded were taken to Zile State Hospital after the initial intervention. While it was learned that the health status of the wounded is good, E.D. was taken into custody by gendarmerie teams.
