The incident occurred around 16:30 on Selçuklular Street, located on Zeytinoğlu Avenue in the Akatlar neighborhood of Beşiktaş district.
According to the information obtained, municipal police teams and traffic police were dispatched to the area following reports from citizens who noticed the road collapse.
The teams cordoned off the area where the collapse occurred with traffic cones, and traffic was directed to a single lane.
Traffic congestion and disruptions occurred in both directions of the road.
"The same road had been patched before"
Hamdi Örenç, the manager of the taxi stand located on the road, said, "We didn't hear anything in terms of sound. A school bus was passing by.
We were sitting inside, then we looked and the road suddenly collapsed. We immediately found cones and closed the road.
Then we called the police. The teams came and took care of it. We called them ourselves a month ago; the same road had been patched before. It was patched again this morning, but the road collapsed again.
Trucks pass through this road frequently. Most likely, that is why the road collapsed. Something terrible could have happened to someone," he said.
