Roads to be closed in Ankara due to cycling race

The Ankara Police Department has announced that certain roads will be closed to traffic on Sunday, September 14, 2025, due to the Maximum Gran Fondo Başkent Cycling Race. It was stated that roads covering the start, turn, and finish points of the race will be closed.

Authorities advised drivers to use alternative routes, noting that police and organization teams will be stationed at intersections to ensure safe passage.

ROADS TO BE CLOSED TO TRAFFIC

The roads that will be closed to traffic starting from 10:00 AM tomorrow until the event concludes are as follows:

"The section of GMK Boulevard between the Strazburg Street intersection and Anadolu Square, and the roads opening into this area, will be closed in both directions. The section of Celal Bayar Boulevard between Mevlana Boulevard and A. Adnan Saygun Street, and the roads opening into this area, will also be closed in both directions. Anıt Street and the roads opening into it; the section of Gençlik Street between the Akdeniz Street intersection and the Anıt Street intersection, and the roads opening into this area; the section of Dögol Street between Beşevler Junction and Anadolu Square, and the roads opening into this area; and the section of Kazım Karabekir Street between Istanbul Street and Anadolu Square will be closed in both directions. The section of Hipodrom Street between the Train Station Junction and Mevlana Boulevard, and the roads opening into this area, will also be closed in both directions. Additionally, the side roads providing connection from Hipodrom Street to Kazım Karabekir Street and from Kazım Karabekir Street to Hipodrom Street, the side roads providing connection from Celal Bayar Boulevard to Kazım Karabekir Street and from Kazım Karabekir Street to Celal Bayar Boulevard, and the side roads providing connection from Istanbul Street to Kazım Karabekir Street and from Kazım Karabekir Street to Istanbul Street will also be closed."

Furthermore, the Anadolu Meydanı Ankaray station will remain closed starting from 1:00 PM tomorrow until the event concludes.
