She did not report her son to the police who came to her door, and paid with her life
It has emerged that a mother in the Merzifon district of Amasya, who was stabbed to death by her intoxicated son following an argument, had declined to file a complaint against him when police arrived at her door in response to a report just one minute before the incident.
On the previous evening, neighbors reported hearing arguing coming from the home of Saliha Karayaka (60) on Fidan Street in the Sofular neighborhood. Karayaka told the police who arrived at the house following the report that it was a domestic dispute and that she did not wish to file a complaint.
As the police were about to leave the building, sounds of arguing were heard again. Upon this, the police returned to the house and requested assistance from the fire department when the door was not opened.
The teams that entered the house found the unfortunate woman covered in blood, having sustained stab wounds to her body.
While the mother, who was rushed to the hospital by ambulance, could not be saved, her son M.K. (28), who murdered her, was taken into custody. It was revealed that M.K., who was found to have a blood alcohol level of 1.40 promille, had a criminal record of 27 offenses, 7 of which were drug-related.
Saliha Karayaka, who had previously lost her husband, was laid to rest yesterday. Her son was arrested by the court and sent to prison.
