Snow depth reaches 10 centimeters, schools closed
Due to the snowfall affecting Edirne, all schools in the Uzunköprü district have been closed, and bussed education has been suspended for one day in 8 districts.
The snowfall that began in the evening in Edirne continues to intensify. In a statement issued by the Edirne Governor's Office, it was announced that bussed education has been suspended for one day in the central district and all other districts due to heavy snowfall.
The statement from the Governor's Office indicated that due to the heavy snowfall across the province, all educational institutions in the Uzunköprü district will be closed on Tuesday, January 14, while bussed education in the central district of Edirne and 7 other districts has been suspended for one day.

The statement further noted, “Edirne police and gendarmerie teams have also increased their patrols along road routes due to the snowfall. Due to the ongoing heavy snowfall in our İpsala, Enez, Keşan, Meriç, and Uzunköprü districts, the snow depth has reached 10 centimeters in some areas.

Our Provincial Special Administration and Highway teams are continuing salting and snow clearing operations without interruption, and there are currently no closed village roads. All our teams are on high alert to respond immediately to any reports received,” the statement read.
