Spark from welding machine causes fire
In Bursa, a spark from a welding machine during roof reinforcement work at a business caused a fire.
A fire broke out on December 23 in the Samanlı neighborhood of the Yıldırım district in Bursa province, as a result of a spark jumping from a welding machine during roof reinforcement work at a 1,500 m2 warehouse belonging to a business named Dip Toptan Perakende Limited Şirketi, owned by an individual identified as D.K.
The fire that started during the roof reinforcement work grew rapidly. Upon notification, numerous fire, medical, police, AFAD, and gendarmerie teams, as well as water tankers belonging to the Bursa Metropolitan Municipality and Yıldırım Municipality, were dispatched to the scene. Firefighting crews, who intervened in the blaze with a total of 40 vehicles and 120 personnel, brought the fire under control within approximately 1.5 hours.
The individuals using the welding machine had their statements taken as suspects on charges of causing a fire through negligence. The individuals were released after providing their statements.
