Specialist sergeant wounded in weapon accident dies in hospital
Minister of Interior Ali Yerlikaya announced that Gendarmerie Specialist Sergeant Yavuz Güney, who was wounded in a weapon accident, has died in the hospital.
Minister Yerlikaya, in a statement on his social media account, said: "Gendarmerie Specialist Sergeant Yavuz Güney, serving under the Silvan Gendarmerie Commando Regiment Command, has passed away and attained martyrdom despite all interventions at the hospital following a weapon accident.
I wish God's mercy upon our heroic gendarmerie personnel, and offer my condolences to his grieving family, our gendarmerie organization, and our nation. May his rank be high," he stated.
