Statement from the Aydın Governor's Office regarding the attack on a tour bus

The statement from the Aydın Governor's Office included the following remarks: 

"On June 10, 2025, following a verbal altercation in traffic in the Akbük neighborhood of our Didim district, a tour bus carrying foreign tourists was cut off by five individuals in another vehicle; the vehicle's windshield was broken with a stone, and the tour bus driver, K.E., was slightly injured.

The injured individual is not in life-threatening condition and has been discharged following treatment. 

A judicial investigation has been launched into the incident, and the individuals who cut off the tour bus were immediately taken into custody by our law enforcement officers.

Judicial and administrative proceedings regarding the detained individuals are ongoing.

A total of 11 traffic citations were issued to the vehicle and drivers that cut off the tour bus in the incident, in accordance with the relevant articles of Traffic Law No. 2918, resulting in an administrative fine of 61 thousand 741 TL. 

The three vehicles involved in the crime were banned from traffic for 15 days and towed to the Didim impound lot. Such acts of bullying and thuggery that disrupt public order, traffic safety, and the peace of the public, and any action that endangers the life and property safety of our citizens, will never be tolerated."
