In the statement, it was noted that the posts on social media claiming that 150 dogs were poisoned to death in the Ahlat district of Bitlis are unfounded.

In the statement made by the Governor's Office, it was stated that following the news reports titled "150 dogs poisoned to death in Ahlat" on social media, a team from the Ahlat Chief's Office affiliated with the Directorate of Nature Conservation and National Parks went to the shelter on the Ahlat-Malazgirt highway route to conduct investigations.

The statement included the following remarks: "During the investigation, it was learned that the individual named Çöpçü Ömer, mentioned in the reports, does not reside at the scene, that the animals in the area are alive and have no health problems, and that no poisoning incident occurred according to interviews conducted with residents living in settlements near the area.

It has also been shared with the public through investigations conducted by the Ahlat Municipality that the relevant footage does not reflect the truth. During the inspections carried out in the vicinity, no dead or decomposed dog bodies were encountered in any way, and it has been understood that the news shared on social media is completely unfounded and does not reflect the truth.
