Stray bullet claims a life in Antalya

A tragic incident occurred yesterday evening around 8:00 PM in the garden of a two-story house located on 6932 Street in the Varsak Menderes neighborhood of Antalya's Kepez district.

Syrian national Abdurrahman Omar was critically injured when a bullet struck him in the chest while he was sitting in his garden. Despite being rushed to Kepez State Hospital by his relatives, Omar could not be saved despite all medical interventions.

Investigations determined that the bullet that struck Omar was a stray bullet that had fallen after being fired into the air in the vicinity. Following the incident, numerous police teams were dispatched to the area, and crime scene investigation units conducted a detailed examination of the house's garden and its surroundings.

The police identified that shots had been fired into the air in the garden of another house on 6966 Street in the same neighborhood. In connection with this incident, three individuals identified as Y.Y., M.A.Y., and H.A. were detained. While the suspects were taken to the police station for questioning, evidence collection efforts continue at the scene of the incident. The investigation is ongoing.
