Students staying in dormitory hospitalized over suspected food poisoning
Approximately 50 students staying at a KYK dormitory in the Besni district of Adıyaman were hospitalized with suspected food poisoning after eating a meal.
According to the information obtained, the incident occurred in the evening hours at a girls' dormitory affiliated with the Credit and Dormitories Institution (KYK), where students of the Adıyaman University Besni Vocational School stay in the Besni district of Adıyaman.
After dinner, some students began experiencing abdominal pain and nausea, and medical teams were notified.
Medical teams arriving at the dormitory transported the students, who showed symptoms of poisoning, to Besni State Hospital by ambulance.
It was learned that the students, who were taken under treatment in the emergency department, are in good health.
It was stated that the exact cause of the poisoning of the students, who reportedly ate chicken for dinner, will be revealed following an investigation.
Adıyaman University Rector Prof. Dr. Mehmet Keleş, who went to the district, visited the students at the hospital and received information about their condition.
