Suffered a heart attack at the funeral of his friend who died of a heart attack

Yakup Kadri Gülsoy, who retired as a branch manager from the Manisa Provincial Directorate of National Education, passed away following a heart attack. Yakup Kadri Gülsoy's funeral was brought to Hatuniye Mosque. The deceased's sons, Gökhan and Kürşat Gülsoy, and his grandson, Oğuz Kaan Gülsoy, accepted condolences in the mosque courtyard.

The funeral ceremony was attended by Manisa Governor Vahdettin Özkan, Provincial Gendarmerie Commander Brigadier General İlhan Şen, Deputy Governor Mustafa Harputlu, Provincial Director of National Education Mehmet Uğurelli, Şehzadeler District Director of National Education Metin Gencay, Yunusemre District Director of National Education Yıldıray Demirtaş, MHP Manisa Provincial Chairman Cüneyt Tosuner, representatives of the education community, and numerous citizens.

Following the funeral prayer held after the noon prayer, Yakup Kadri Gülsoy was laid to rest at Kırtık Cemetery amidst tears.

Came to the funeral, suffered a heart attack

An incident that occurred during the funeral ceremony caused great sadness. Retired educator Mehmet Gündüz (68), who reportedly served with the late Yakup Kadri Gülsoy in Saruhanlı, collapsed after falling ill shortly after leaving a public restroom near the mosque.

While health teams were dispatched to the scene upon reports from citizens, a 112 Emergency Health worker attending the funeral provided the initial intervention. Mehmet Gündüz, who was determined to have suffered a heart attack, was taken to Manisa City Hospital by ambulance after receiving CPR at the scene. It was learned that Gündüz is in intensive care.
