Surprising fine for a car not used for 10 years
Erkan Ünal, a resident of Kastamonu, is preparing to contest a 993 TL traffic fine issued to his car, which has been sitting in a garage and not running for 10 years, on the grounds that it was 'driving around with loud noise'.
Erkan Ünal, who resides in the Taşköprü district of Kastamonu, was stunned by a traffic fine issued to his long-unused car. Ünal stated that he received the fine on the grounds that his vehicle was driving around the center of Kastamonu with loud noise.
Stating that his car does not even have a battery, Ünal said, 'In the fine that reached me a few days ago, it says a 993 lira fine was issued for driving around with loud noise on İstanbul Street in the Saraçlar neighborhood. My vehicle has been in the garage for 10 years and does not run. I am shocked by this situation and did not expect such a fine.'
Ünal stated that he will take action to resolve this situation through legal channels and will contest the fine.
