Suspect arrested after stealing weapons and ammunition from shooting range
A 16-year-old suspect who fled after stealing weapons and ammunition from a shooting range in Kahramanmaraş has been arrested and sent to prison following a 3-day pursuit by police teams.
The incident occurred the day before yesterday at a shooting range in the central Dulkadiroğlu district. According to the information received, the suspect, H.E. (16), stole 2 weapons and 300 rounds of ammunition from the range and fled.
Upon notification of the incident, the police began efforts to apprehend the fleeing individual. Evaluating reports from various parts of the city and security camera footage, the police conducted an extensive field search.
Special operations police blockaded the area to capture the suspect, who was determined to have spent the night at a vineyard house in the Beyazıtlı neighborhood of the Dulkadiroğlu district and had requested food from a kebab shop. Realizing he had been spotted and attempting to flee, the suspect was seen on a roof, leading to an operation supported by drones and police dogs, during which the suspect, H.E., was apprehended.
The suspect, H.E., who was taken into custody in the incident where the weapons were recovered, was referred to the courthouse following his processing at the police station. The suspect was sent to prison after being referred to the duty magistrate.
