Suspect sought in incident where sisters lost their lives has been captured

The incident occurred on the evening of February 6 in the Menderes district. According to the information obtained, the car with license plate 35 CPV 616, which was in motion, lost control for an as-yet-undetermined reason and overturned into a creek bed.

In the accident, which took place in a secluded area, Nergiz T. (21) and her sister Balım T. (16), who were in the vehicle, lost their lives.

Gendarmerie teams launched an investigation into D.Y. (28) and T.D. (33), who survived the accident but allegedly fled the scene because they had outstanding arrest warrants for various crimes.

Upon the guidance of D.Y., who surrendered to the police station of his own volition the morning after the accident, teams went to the scene and found Nergiz T.'s lifeless body inside the vehicle.

Balım T.'s lifeless body was found by citizens on the edge of the creek at around 11:00 on the same day. Within the scope of the ongoing investigation, the fugitive suspect T.D., who had disappeared after the incident, was captured and taken into custody today as a result of the pursuit by gendarmerie teams.

On the other hand, it was learned that in his statement, the detained D.Y. said that while they were driving, the vehicle accidentally skidded on the bridge and they fell into the creek bed. It was reported that the two suspects, whose procedures at the gendarmerie are ongoing, will be referred to the courthouse tomorrow.
