Taxi driver murdered in Kastamonu: Body found 500 meters away
In the Araç district of Kastamonu, a taxi driver was found dead in a wooded area, having been shot with a firearm.
According to the information received, relatives of Akif Eymür, the driver of the taxi with license plate 37 T 6508, reported the situation to the 112 Emergency Call Center after they had not heard from him since yesterday afternoon.
During the search efforts conducted by gendarmerie teams and Eymür's relatives, the taxi Eymür was driving was found in a wooded area of Toygaören village. Approximately 500 meters away from the taxi, Eymür was found dead, having been shot with a firearm.
Eymür's body was taken to the morgue of the Kastamonu Training and Research Hospital.
MURDER SUSPECT APPREHENDED
While teams from the Kastamonu Provincial Gendarmerie Command determined through their investigation that M.B. had committed the act, it was established that M.B. had boarded the taxi in the Araç district and subsequently committed the murder; the suspect was apprehended and taken into custody.
In a statement made by the Kastamonu Courthouse, the following expressions were used: "As a result of the work carried out, the suspect of the incident, M.B., has been apprehended and taken into custody on charges of robbery and intentional homicide, and the investigation into the matter is being comprehensively continued by the Araç Chief Public Prosecutor's Office."
