The well they dug to search for treasure became their end
In Konya, 2 people who were conducting illegal excavations to search for treasure lost their lives in the well they had dug.
The incident occurred in the Mordor castle area of the Kızılören neighborhood in the central Meram district.
According to allegations, Hilmi Konukcu (36) and Ali Çelikbaş (50), who were conducting unauthorized excavations to search for treasure, lost their lives in the well they had dug.
Upon notification, health, gendarmerie, UMKE, and AFAD teams were dispatched to the scene.
During the work carried out by the teams at the scene, the lifeless bodies of Hilmi Konukcu and Ali Çelikbaş were recovered from the well. The exact causes of death for Hilmi Konukcu and Ali Çelikbaş will be clarified as a result of an autopsy.
An investigation into the incident has been initiated.
