Thief caught by gendarmerie steals patrol vehicle and escapes

The incident occurred in Silivri on January 6 at approximately 02:15. According to allegations, an individual reported to Mustafa S., his cousin, that his vehicle had been stolen and taken to a horse farm in Silivri.

Following the report, teams from the Büyükkılıçlı Gendarmerie Command under the Silivri District Gendarmerie Command went to the address. The gendarmerie teams determined that the suspect, Tayyip F., was at the location with the stolen vehicle. The gendarmerie teams apprehended Tayyip F. and placed him in the gendarmerie vehicle.

While the teams were conducting evidence collection and search operations in the area, the suspect stole the gendarmerie vehicle, sped out of the farm, and merged onto the Northern Marmara Motorway in the direction of Istanbul.

The suspect, who was driving along the motorway, crashed into a barrier at the Odayeri Toll Booths. The theft suspect then continued to flee on the same road using the gendarmerie vehicle he had crashed.

The suspect reached the Okmeydanı area of the Şişli district with the stolen vehicle. He abandoned the vehicle there and disappeared. While gendarmerie teams recovered the abandoned vehicle from the location, extensive efforts to apprehend the fleeing suspect are ongoing.
