'Tiny houses' being removed in Edirne

Approximately 30 "tiny houses" were built on a 19-decare plot of agricultural land in the village of Danışment, located in the Keşan district of Edirne. The illegal structures built on agricultural land were ordered to be removed by Edirne Governor Yunus Sezer.

Following the decision, when the property owners refused to vacate the "tiny houses," a large number of gendarmerie and Provincial Special Administration teams were dispatched to the region.

The Edirne Administrative Court ruled that the "tiny houses" had acquired the status of residential dwellings due to the additions built onto them. The Edirne Governor's Office notified the owners that these structures must be removed in order to protect agricultural land.

TWO MILLION LIRA EXPENDITURE

Teams from the Provincial Special Administration and the Provincial Gendarmerie Command went to the field in Danışment village where approximately 30 "tiny houses" are located. The property owners, who caused difficulties for the gendarmerie teams, blocked the roads leading to the land with their vehicles, making it difficult for both the gendarmerie and the Provincial Special Administration teams to reach the field.

Stating that they would not move their vehicles, the "tiny house" owners wanted to remain on the site, citing that they had incurred significant costs and had spent approximately 2 million lira for each plot.

Unable to persuade the property owners, the teams opened a new road with construction machinery to reach the area where the tiny houses are located.

Reaching the land via the road opened by construction machinery, the teams used cranes to remove some of the "tiny houses" and transport them to another area.
