Torture of a puppy in Sivas: Footage sparks outrage
In the İmranlı district of Sivas, an individual who violently beat a puppy with a stick has been fined 71,800 Turkish Lira, and legal proceedings have been initiated against them. The injured puppy has been taken under care.
In an incident that occurred in the village of Türkkeşlik in the İmranlı district, footage showing an individual violently beating a puppy with a stick has sparked widespread outrage on social media.
Following the incident, teams from the İmranlı Municipality took the puppy under protection and transported it to a veterinary clinic in the Sivas city center for treatment. Examinations revealed fractures and internal bleeding in the puppy's body.
Gendarmerie teams identified the person in the footage as K.C. A 71,800 TL administrative fine was imposed on K.C. by the Sivas Directorate of Nature Conservation and National Parks under the Animal Protection Law No. 5199. Additionally, legal proceedings have been initiated against the individual by the Public Prosecutor's Office.
GOVERNORATE STATEMENT
In a statement regarding the incident, the Governorate stated that they would stand against all forms of mistreatment toward animals and remain determined to protect the right to life of all living creatures in nature. The statement emphasized that K.C. was identified and penalized in a short period of time.
