Traffic accident in Artvin: Two vehicles collide, 5 injured
Two cars collided head-on in a traffic accident on the Artvin-Yusufeli highway. It was learned that a family in one of the vehicles was returning from a funeral in Rize when the accident occurred, leaving 5 people injured. It was reported that the injuries of those involved are not life-threatening.
The accident occurred near the Kapan-1 Tunnel in the village of Zeytinlik. A car with license plate 53 AD 471, driven by Emrullah Ü., was traveling from the direction of Yusufeli toward Artvin city center when it collided head-on with a vehicle with license plate 25 AAU 559, driven by Hakan Ö., coming from the opposite direction. The drivers, as well as Nuray Ü., Tuğba Ü., and Muhammed Ü., who were passengers in the vehicle with license plate 53 AD 471, were injured in the crash. Upon notification, health, gendarmerie, and traffic teams were dispatched to the scene. The injured were taken to Artvin State Hospital by ambulance for treatment. It was learned that the injuries of the victims are not life-threatening.
On the other hand, it was learned that the family in the vehicle with license plate 53 AD 471 was returning from the funeral of two siblings who had lost their lives in a traffic accident in Rize.
An investigation into the accident has been initiated.
