Tragic accident in Van: 2 young people lost their lives
In the Özalp district of Van, 2 young people lost their lives in an accident where a motorcycle collided with a minibus; an investigation into the accident is ongoing.
According to the information obtained, the accident occurred around noon near the Mehmetalan neighborhood on the Özalp-Çaldıran highway. A motorcycle with license plate 06 GG 5011, driven by Davut Elmas, and a minibus with license plate 65 LA 820, driven by Sultan Şahin, collided head-on.
In the accident, the motorcyclist Davut Elmas (23) and Emre Elmas (22), who was sitting behind him, lost their lives at the scene. Upon notification, ambulance and gendarmerie teams were dispatched to the area. While the gendarmerie closed the road to traffic as a precaution, the bodies were taken to Özalp State Hospital for autopsy.
An investigation into the accident has been initiated.
