Truck with brake failure crosses into opposite lane: Dead and injured reported
In the Bornova district of İzmir, a truck with failed brakes crossed into the opposite lane and collided with several vehicles, including a police car. It has been reported that there are dead and injured.
In a chain-reaction traffic accident in the Bornova district of İzmir, a truck with a brake malfunction crossed into the opposite lane and struck 10 vehicles, including a police car, resulting in the death of 1 police officer, the loss of 2 other lives, and injuries to 5 people.
The accident occurred around 16:30 near the Artillery Brigade Lodgings on İstanbul Street.

According to the information obtained, the truck, which was traveling from the direction of Manisa toward İzmir and is believed to have experienced a brake failure based on initial assessments, went out of the driver's control and crossed into the opposite lane.
The out-of-control truck collided with 10 vehicles coming from the opposite direction, including an on-duty police car.
1 police officer martyred
Upon notification, numerous health, fire, and police teams were dispatched to the area. During checks conducted by medical teams, it was determined that the truck driver and 1 other person had lost their lives at the scene.

Police officer Serkan Hızlı, who was rushed to the hospital in critical condition, could not be saved despite all interventions and was martyred. The treatment of a total of 5 people injured in the accident, including 1 police officer in serious condition, continues in hospitals.
