Two suspects arrested in Sultanbeyli forest fire investigation
Two suspects detained in connection with the fire that damaged a 3-decare area in Battalgazi Neighborhood have been sent to prison.
A.K. (23) and R.C. (24), who were detained as part of the investigation into the forest fire in Sultanbeyli, Istanbul, have been arrested by the court.
Teams from the Istanbul Police Department's Sultanbeyli District Police Department launched an investigation following the forest fire that occurred in Battalgazi Neighborhood on August 24. Drone-assisted operations determined that 3 decares of land were damaged in the fire.

It was reported that one of the two suspects identified as having started the fire was caught at the scene, while the other was apprehended following a pursuit by teams while attempting to flee.
Research conducted on the suspects also revealed that administrative action had been taken against A.K. and R.C. on June 26, 2026, under the scope of the "forest entry ban."

The two suspects, who were referred to the courthouse after their procedures at the police station, were arrested for "Violation of the Forest Law" and sent to prison.
