Urla Artichoke Festival opens its doors

The Urla Artichoke Festival is opening its doors. The promotional meeting for the festival, hosted by Urla Mayor Selçuk Balkan, was attended by İzmir Journalists Association President Dilek Gappi, Urla Chamber of Agriculture President Muharrem Uslucan, municipal bureaucrats, and journalists.

Urla Chamber of Agriculture President Muharrem Uslucan stated that the artichoke is very important in terms of health, especially as it grows in the Aegean and Mediterranean regions, and said, "The festival, while promoting Urla, also contributes to the tradesmen and producers here. We are aware that artichokes have not reached the desired production levels and the desired consumption due to rising prices. We will do our best to promote the artichoke and healthy nutrition for our people."
