Vehicle swept away by floodwaters dragged approximately 150 meters
In the Çubuk district of Ankara, a vehicle was caught in a current on a road submerged by an overflowing creek and was dragged for approximately 150 meters.
The incident occurred on the old road route connecting Kızılek Neighborhood to Yeşilkent Neighborhood in the Çubuk district.
According to the information obtained, the old road route was submerged after the adjacent creek overflowed. At that moment, a vehicle heading toward Yeşilkent Neighborhood was caught in the current while crossing and was dragged for approximately 150 meters.
The vehicle, which was being dragged downstream by the current, was stopped through the intervention of construction equipment, and those inside the vehicle were rescued by teams that arrived at the scene. There were no fatalities or injuries in the incident, though the vehicle sustained material damage.
Authorities warned drivers not to use the old road route during periods when water levels rise in the region. An investigation into the incident has been initiated.
