Verdict reached for father who shot his 10-year-old son
In Bartın, a father who shot and wounded his 10-year-old son with a rifle has been arrested and sent to prison.
In the village of Kavaklı in the Kurucaşile district of Bartın, 10-year-old U.K. was seriously wounded after being shot by his father yesterday evening. U.K. was taken to Bartın State Hospital, where he is currently receiving treatment for his serious injuries.
It was learned that the 53-year-old father, İbrahim K., who was detained following the incident and found to be under the influence of alcohol, claimed that the rifle went off by accident.
The wounded child, in his initial statement, said he did not remember what happened. The grandmother, H.K., who was learned to have been in the same house as her son and the grandson he shot at the time of the incident, alleged that her son shot his son following an argument.
After his statements and processing were completed, the father was brought before judicial authorities today. Father İbrahim K. was arrested on charges of "attempted murder" and sent to Bartın Prison.
