He held a knife to his children's throats to threaten his wife during divorce proceedings: He made her watch

According to the information obtained, Fatma A. (26), who is in Burdur, filed a complaint with the prosecutor's office, stating that her husband Şiyar A. (32), who lives in İzmir and is in the process of divorcing her, had called her via video chat and held a knife to their child's throat to threaten her.

Upon the complaint, teams from the İzmir Police Department launched an investigation into the incident.

The father, Şiyar A., who was determined to be residing in Karabağlar, was taken into custody by police teams.

The 7-year-old Yiğit Cemil A. and 3-year-old Berat A., who were with the father, were taken under protection by the Provincial Directorate of Family and Social Services.

The procedures for the suspect, who is in custody, are ongoing at the police station.

The following statements were included in the statement made by the İzmir Governor's Office regarding the incident:

"The father, Ş.A., who was seen in footage shared on some social media accounts today calling his legally wedded wife F.A., who is in the process of divorcing him and is currently in Burdur, via video chat and threatening her with their children, has been apprehended in the Karabağlar district of our province, and the couple's two sons have been taken under state protection.

Judicial proceedings regarding the suspect Ş.A., who has been taken into custody, are continuing."
