Village headman shoots his colleague
In the Daday district of Kastamonu, a village headman who fired his pistol to scare off a dog attacking him accidentally shot his colleague who was standing nearby.
The incident occurred in Çavuşlu village in the Daday district of Kastamonu. According to the information obtained, village headman H.Ç. (49) fired his pistol at the ground to scare off a dog that was attacking him.
The bullet from H.Ç.'s pistol struck Mehmet Ulukaya (46), the headman of Osmanlar village in the Eflani district of Karabük, who was standing next to him.
Mehmet Ulukaya, who received initial medical intervention from health teams that arrived at the scene following a report to the 112 Emergency Call Center, was taken to Karabük Training and Research Hospital.
It was learned that Ulukaya, who has been taken under treatment, is in critical condition.
Gendarmerie teams have launched an investigation into the incident.
