Woman who was shot by her ex-fiancé speaks out: He is making threatening posts

The incident occurred yesterday around 12:30 PM in front of İshakpaşa Primary School on Atatürk Boulevard in the Cuma neighborhood. A dispute broke out between Hakan M. and his ex-fiancée, Asel Y., whom he encountered on the street.

As the argument escalated, Hakan M. opened fire on Asel Y. with a handgun. Asel Y. fell to the ground, bleeding from a bullet wound to her right leg, while Hakan M. fled the scene running. The wounded woman was taken to İnegöl State Hospital by an ambulance dispatched to the scene. While the injured woman's treatment continues, police teams are working to apprehend the suspect.

Asel Y., who was subjected to the attack, said, "Shortly after I met Hakan M. three years ago, I started to feel uncomfortable due to his lies and the shady business he brought home. I constantly wanted to break up with this person, but since I learned about these things later, I didn't notice them at first. He never left me alone. On October 3, 2024, I wanted to break up with him once again. He came to my family's door that same day and shot at me. However, I could not prove it because there was no evidence regarding the incident. He insulted me and spat in my face. Afterward, he tried to portray himself as a victim on the grounds that he was 'severely provoked.' Following this incident, he spent 40 days in prison. He didn't leave me alone after he got out of prison either.

Knowing that something would happen to me, I had to forgive him a few times. Because he was clearly saying that he would harm me. I wanted to leave the city. I went to get permission from the school principal for my children. Just then, he appeared before me again. Before going to the school, I called the police, then my mother. I called my mother and said, 'Mom, Hakan is here. He is going to shoot me in a little while, I can feel it.' My mother said, 'My daughter, go home.'

However, I didn't want to go because I thought, 'If I go that way, there are no cameras there, it's a quieter place.' Later, Hakan came up to me and said, 'Shall we have tea up ahead?' I stated that I didn't want to go. I tried to understand if he had a weapon by checking his waist area. He wanted to look at my phone to check if I had called the police. I hid the conversation with the police and only showed the part where I called my mother. Then he went to where the taxi stands were. He most likely left or hid the weapon there. Then he came back to me.

I was nervous at that moment, I couldn't quite understand what he was trying to do. Because before that, after he got out of prison, he was constantly telling me, 'You cannot go out without serving my sentence, you can neither work nor live.' He was also making posts full of insults on social media, targeting me, my children, and my mother.

He went back to the taxi stands and got the weapon from there. He had most likely put it inside or under a car. After getting the weapon, he came back to me. When I asked him, 'Hakan, why did we come to this, why are you doing these things?' he said to me, 'Did you call the police? If you called, I will run away.' I was looking around again, and at that moment, a bullet came from the right side. Following the incident, he fled," she said.

Asel Y. said, "I cannot get rid of this person in any way. I don't want to get shot again. My bone might not be shattered right now, but I cannot walk. Please help me. I want this person to be caught and arrested as soon as possible. He is currently making threatening posts on social media. He is giving messages that mean, 'I left it unfinished, I will finish my job.' I am still in mortal danger right now," she said.

"I HAVE NO SAFETY OF LIFE"

Stating that she requested protection, Asel Y. said, "I have no safety of life whatsoever. My children, my sibling, my mother, and my family have no safety of life at all. Because if I leave here, he will try to harm my family. I am experiencing these things because his life and character are not suitable for me, and because I wanted to end my relationship with him. My children are witnessing these things, I don't want to live through this," she expressed.
