Young man lost in tunnel found after tourists report him
A 28-year-old identified as A. A., who went missing over the weekend in the Hatay Samandağ region, was rescued by teams after being spotted by tourists.
A 28-year-old identified as A. A., who visited the area around the historic Titus Tunnel in the Samandağ district of Hatay, was found alive approximately two days after getting lost on his way back.
The incident occurred in the Kapısuyu neighborhood of Samandağ. It was stated that A. A., who had traveled to the region by car over the weekend to relax, lost his way while returning after wandering around the area for a while.

According to allegations, the young man lost his balance and fell while walking after tripping over a stone. After the fall, A. A. lost consciousness for a while and was unable to reach his relatives because he had left his mobile phone in his car.
When his family could not hear from him for a long time, the situation was reported to the authorities. Following the report, gendarmerie teams launched a search operation in the area.
TOURISTS NOTICED HIM
While the search efforts were ongoing, tourists visiting the historic Titus Tunnel noticed a person inside the tunnel who appeared to be in need of help. Upon notification, teams were directed to the area.

A. A., who was stated to have been stranded for approximately two days, was extracted from the location by the teams. The young man, who was handed over to medical teams, was taken to the hospital for precautionary reasons after receiving initial intervention.
It was learned that A. A.'s health condition is good.

A. A.'s older brother, Mehmet Ali Alacan, stated that they were very worried during the time they could not hear from his brother and thanked the gendarmerie and the teams that participated in the search and rescue efforts.
Alacan said that his brother had gone to the region over the weekend to clear his head, that he fell on the way back, and that he does not remember part of what he experienced.
