Young man who failed to stop at police order dies after being shot
In the Gebze district of Kocaeli, a young man who fled on an unplated motorcycle after failing to comply with a police order to stop lost his life as a result of fire opened by the police.
The incident occurred during the night on Mimar Sinan Street in the Mimar Sinan neighborhood of Gebze district.
According to allegations, 21-year-old Kerem Uzun did not comply with a police order to stop while driving his unplated motorcycle.
Police opened fire on Uzun as he attempted to flee on his motorcycle. Uzun, who was struck by a bullet, fell from his motorcycle, and medical teams were dispatched to the scene upon notification. Despite all interventions at the hospital where he was taken, Uzun lost his life.
The police officer who opened fire has been taken into custody. An investigation into the incident has been launched.
