Young man with schizophrenia stabs 4 family members

In the Yeşiltepe neighborhood of Zonguldak's Ereğli district, an individual named Oğuz Ş. stabbed his sister Emine, his brother-in-law İhsan, and his nephews/nieces Boncuk and İhsan S., with whom he lived, for reasons yet unknown.

Neighbors who heard the screams entered the house and found the family covered in blood; upon notification, numerous ambulances and police teams were dispatched to the scene.

Following the initial intervention by medical teams, the injured were taken to the hospital.

It was learned that among those under treatment, Emine and her husband İhsan S. are in critical condition.

Police teams apprehended the attacker, who had fled the scene, in a short time and took him into custody, while the weapon used in the crime, a knife, was found in a trash container.

It was learned that the attacker suffers from schizophrenia, and an investigation into the incident has been launched.
