A woman was injured after being attacked with a knife while walking on the sidewalk in the Erbaa district of Tokat.

In the Yeşilyurt neighborhood, a person approached S.G. from behind while she was walking on the sidewalk in the evening and attacked her with a knife for an unknown reason.

The young woman, who was injured by a knife blow to her back, tried to flee, but the attacker pursued her, leading to a short chase between them.

Upon notification by citizens who witnessed the incident, health and police teams were dispatched to the area. The injured woman was taken to Erbaa State Hospital by ambulance and placed under treatment.

It was learned that the young woman sustained cuts on several parts of her body. The police detained a person named M.K., who is allegedly mentally unstable. An investigation into the incident has been launched.
