Young woman drowns after falling into Euphrates River while taking photos
In the Birecik district of Şanlıurfa, a young woman lost her balance and fell into the Euphrates River while trying to take photos, drowning as a result.
According to the information obtained, the incident occurred yesterday evening in the Dorucak neighborhood of Birecik district.
It is alleged that 21-year-old Havva Çelik, who wanted to take photos on the rocks along the banks of the Euphrates River, suddenly lost her balance and fell.
Caught in the current, Çelik disappeared. Her family, noticing the situation, called the 112 Emergency Call Center and requested help from medical, gendarmerie, and search and rescue teams.
The lifeless body of Havva Çelik was recovered through the efforts of the teams dispatched to the scene.
Following the investigation at the scene, Çelik's body was taken to the morgue of the Şanlıurfa Forensic Medicine Institute for autopsy procedures.
The gendarmerie has launched an investigation into the incident.
