The most successful mayors have been announced... CHP names left their mark on the list!

Following the March 31, 2024 local elections, mayors have completed their first year in office. During this period, satisfaction surveys regarding local administrators, whose performance has been a subject of curiosity, have begun to be shared with the public. The "Turkey's Voter Panorama" research, conducted by ALF Research with 17,420 people in 30 metropolitan cities, revealed the one-year report card of the mayors.

İMAMOĞLU IS AT THE TOP OF THE METROPOLITAN MAYORS

Within the scope of the research, Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu ranked first in the list of the most successful metropolitan mayors with a satisfaction rate of 62.3 percent. It was noted that İmamoğlu, who has been subject to an arrest warrant and removed from office, remains at the top.

İmamoğlu was followed by Ankara Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Mansur Yavaş with 60.8 percent and Antalya Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Muhittin Böcek with 59.5 percent, respectively.

Aydın Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Özlem Çerçioğlu ranked fourth with a satisfaction rate of 58.9 percent, while Manisa Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Ferdi Zeyrek took fifth place with 58.8 percent.

THE TOP 5 CONSISTED ENTIRELY OF CHP MAYORS

Another striking element in the ALF study was that all the metropolitan mayors in the top 5 were from the CHP. This picture indicated high voter satisfaction, particularly regarding the CHP's management performance in metropolitan cities.

AN AKP MEMBER AT THE TOP OF THE DISTRICT MAYORS LIST

In the research, satisfaction rates for metropolitan district mayors were also measured. Among the 10 most successful metropolitan district mayors, only the name in the first place was from the AKP.

Güngören Mayor Bünyamin Demir ranked first with a rate of 68.1 percent, while all of the remaining 9 names consisted of CHP mayors.

Ankara Çankaya Mayor Hüseyin Can Güner took second place on the list with 67.4 percent, and Antalya Konyaaltı Mayor Cem Kotan took third place with 56.9 percent. Eskişehir Odunpazarı Mayor Kazım Kurt placed fourth with 56.4 percent. Aydın Didim Mayor Hatice Gençay came in fifth with a satisfaction rate of 55.6 percent.
